Spain’s total area is 504.780 km2 and more than 48 million people inhabit the peninsular. Its capital, Madrid, is its biggest city, followed by Barcelona and Valencia. Since the landscape is more varied than anywhere else in Europe, and because of the fact that there exist 4 official languages in this country, Spain is known to be extremely diverse and endlessly fascinating. The presence of numerous international airports, train connections and motorways make the country, and especially the ‘costas’, easy to reach.
